Career Schools and Colleges, and Private and Out-of-State Public Postsecondary Institutions Operating in Texas each have rules related to the issuance of certificates of authority, the establishment of minimum standards, and operating requirements. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) recently determined that by repealing both Chapter 7 and Chapter 12, consolidating and reorganizing the material into a new Chapter 7 (Degree Granting Colleges and Universities Other Than Texas Public Institutions), and adding new provisions, postsecondary institutions wishing to operate in Texas would be able to establish operations more easily and quickly without compromising safeguards for students.

CCST is committed to educational development and professional growth. Due to recent legislation, each school director, full-time instructor and director of admissions must complete at least six hours of continuing education every year.
The revised rules governing Texas Career Schools and Colleges were effective August 28, 2006. (TAC Title 40 Part 20 Chapter 807) The regulations require that the school maintain records of the continuing education received by the school personnel for fi ve years and in a location so the records are immediately available for review. (Subchapter G. Staff Education Requirements)
